Marco has been working in the entertainment industry for over two decades, starting as a Matte Painter and 3D Artist, and now working primarily as a Concept Artist / Designer and Key Art Illustrator. He has worked on hit shows like Game of Thrones, Man in the High Castle, Elysium, Harry Potter, and more recently Marvel’s upcoming Thor Love and Thunder. In 2008 he received a VES AWARD in Los Angeles for leading a team of VFX artists on a BBC television series.
The art we're sharing here, White Chapel, is a personal work. It's a series of concept art illustrations Marco created as a visual homage to a historical period, Victorian era in London. The era fascinated him and the eery, foggy London streets were of course historically the settings of one of the most famous unsolved mystery of all times, the Jack the Ripper murders.
In his spare time, Marco loves to combine images with music and sound design. "The use of visuals and sounds to create mood and atmosphere is at the core of my artistic journey and storytelling process," he says. As you can see in his White Chapel series, Marco has a true gift for making an atmosphere or a mood tangible for an audience.
