Tinder's ‘Swipe Night: Killer Weekend', produced by Wrangle member Jen Sall and directed by Sasie Sealy, was honored with the Creativity Awards Experiential Idea of the Year.
The creators at 72&Sunny were inspired by the idea that Tinder is a vessel for spontaneity and a type of choose-your-own experience for the dating world. They wanted an interactive video wherein Tinder users could make choices that would lead to matches in the real world.
Any amount of interactivity means a huge variety of different outcomes and videos to be accessed. In the case of Swipe Night there were potentially 2000 different films hidden within the game. For the creative team that meant decision trees, white boards, constant communication, and embracing a whole new way of storytelling.
What aspect of the project most tested Jen's nerves? "Not sure if prepping across three time zones and two languages or filming overnights with daily torrential rains along with an earthquake was the most challenging component of Swipe Night," says Jen, "But certainly the most fun was filming in Mexico City and watching my cast and crew bond throughout production."
Congrats to Jen and her whole team for making a truly immersive, entertaining, groundbreaking scripted series. To work with Jen or to ask her about working on such a unique project, shoot her a direct message!
