The series combines societal themes and political history, with personal family anecdotes - all told through the lens of youth past and present. Fueled by emotional storytelling and vibrant visuals of migrant culture, "Migrant Sound" is a reminder of all the contribution made by the Windrush generation, from Punk to Dancehall.
The first episode Arrival, takes viewers from the arrival of the first generation of Caribbean immigrants in the UK, to the Windrush scandal, showing the repeated challenges and disrespect that immigrants have faced since their arrival. Migrant Sound won the 2019 Webby Award for Culture and Lifestyle, and screened at Amsterdam’s ADE Festival 2018.
